Sistema Technologies is well versed in Project Management. The DIR DBITS contract defines “Project Management” as follows:
Definition: Project Management service providers may perform any or all of the project management processes identified by the Project Management Institute as published in Table 3-1 of the PMBOK® Guide, Fourth Edition or most recent.
Examples of included services: utilizing the Customer’s tools and processes, using off-the-shelf tools, using Vendor’s own proprietary tools and processes to manage a project and using the Texas Project Delivery Framework.
Sistema Technologies was hired to Project Manage and provide additional resources for a client who needed to fix a large number of know defects within their system, along with some rough functionality enhancement requirements. The goal was to make a clunky legacy system, light and user friendly to improve the client’s user experience. Faced with the challenge of loose requirements, and a system with no user manual, Sistema employed the help of many experts on staff including experienced project managers, database specialists, performance engineers, and usability experts, to plan and execute a bi-weekly release plan and increase user acceptance.
The Sistema Project Manager managed over the Release plan and all changes. The high level requirements were selected based upon their priority, risk, value and effort. Upon client approval, the Project Manager laid the requirements out into a release plan. The developers and QA teams then worked towards implementing the changes per the release calendar. The changes were then shared with the client for user acceptance testing. All changes were received by the Sistema Project Manager who then worked with the Business Analyst and development and testing teams to understand the impact on the system, risk, schedule, cost and time. The Sistema Project Manager then prepared a recommendation and discussed it with the client stakeholders, who then either approved or withdrew the change request.
Sistema Technologies was required to close any defects found in UAT within 5 business days and was required to provide a one month guarantee. It was also required that the UAT defects not exceed 3% of the system testing defects. Sistema performed all activities to the satisfaction of the client.
